Data protection

Protection of personal data of patients and site visitors is one of the most important goals of our employees working at Dermtest. We handle personal Data under strict rules and according to Data protection regulations as well as this privacy policy.

Using this site is possible in general without entering of personal data. At some places where personal data (e.g. E-mail addresses or contact details) is collected, it is done voluntarily and in a very limited scope. We do not forward this data to any other party without your written consent.

Please be advised, that the transfer of data (e.g. via E-mails) can have security risks and therefore we cannot guarantee absolute protection against third parties accessing those types of data.


Purpose of processing

The purpose of processing data is to exchange information between the physician and dermatologist, which are selected by the physician, to perform teledermatologic procedures for the data subjects. This process includes:

  • Data processing (storing and transmitting) of anamnesis data of patients, who underwent teledermatologic examinations, to the dermatologist;

  • Data processing (storing and transmitting) of picture files (especially dermatoscopic images) of patients, who underwent teledermatologic examinations;

  • Relaying and providing of information to the assigned dermatologist for the provision of teledermatologic services according to the Service Agreement;

  • Relaying and storing of consultation data of the assigned dermatologist created in the course of the performance of the teledermatologic services according to the Service Agreement;

  • Creation of medical reports based on the examination data.

  • Relaying and storing of electronic notifications (SMS, email) to the patient as instructed by the physicians.


Categories of personal data
  • Anamnesis data from the patient questionnaire regarding the specific teledermatologic service

  • Dermatoscopic images (picture files) of the patient’s skin

  • Close-up images (picture files) of the patient’s skin

  • General examination data, such as date, user and type of examination

  • Data about the notifications to the patient such as date, type of notification and comment

  • Usage data of individual users of the software as well as access protocols etc.



Recipients of personal data
  • Medical personal of the data controller with a direct connection to the treatment of the patient

  • Dermatologists, that are assigned by the controller for the purpose of performing teledermatologic services


Transfer of personal data to a third country

Dermtest OÜ does not transfer data to a third country outside of the european union.


Duration of data storing

Data is stored for as long as required for the purposes of the service or required by law.


Patient rights

The patient has all the rights of a data subject as regards to his or her personal data. Such rights include the following:

  • request access to his or her personal data;

  • obtain a copy of his or her personal data;

  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete personal data;

  • erase personal data;

  • restrict the processing of personal data;

  • portability of personal data;

  • object to the processing of personal data which is based on legitimate interest and which is processed for direct marketing purposes.

Should the patient believe that his or her rights have been violated, he or she has the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority or the court. In order to exercise his or her rights, the patient should contact our Data Protection Officer.

Using Google Analytics

This site is using Google Analytics to analyse and improve its performance. Google Analytics is a product offered by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
